A 28-year-old woman from Milwaukee is facing charges after police discovered the decomposing body of a baby inside her apartment.
Prosecutors say Shyanna Brothers told investigators that the baby’s father killed their ten-month-old daughter several weeks earlier and threatened her with prison if she reported it.
The child’s body was found inside a cardboard box, and the surrounding room was infested with maggots and flies.
Brothers is scheduled to return to court on September 11, when the results of a competency evaluation will be reviewed.
