A high school student from Oshkosh has been handed charges stemming from a shooting last weekend.
Court records show that 17-year-old Vautrell J. Section made his initial appearance in Winnebago County court yesterday (August 14th).
At the hearing, the teen was officially charged with Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide, Throwing or Discharging Bodily Fluid at a Public Safety Worker or Prosecutor, Receiving Stolen Property worth $5000 to $10,000, Criminal Damage to Property, and Resisting or Obstructing. Section also had his bond set at $200,000 cash.
The 17-year-old was arrested by the Oshkosh Police Department on Sunday (August 10th) after investigators linked him to a shooting that occurred in the 600 block of Franklin Street.
Officers responded to the report of shots fired in the area and located a 20-year-old individual who had sustained a gunshot wound.
The unidentified victim was treated on scene with non-life-threatening injuries before being transported to a local hospital.
Section was eventually located in the 1200 block of West 12th Avenue the following day and brought into custody.
He returns to court for further proceedings on August 21st, ahead of his preliminary hearing on August 25th.
