The stage is set for an explosive 2025 Midwest United Football League Championship.
The Sheboygan County SaberCats will have a highly anticipated rematch with the Illinois Cowboys this Saturday at Horlick Field in Racine.
The SaberCats have been unstoppable this year, going unbeaten in the regular season and dominating the River City Rough Riders 20-6 in the North Division championship.
The Cowboys had a much tougher game in the South Division Championship as they faced the Midwest Renegades.
The Cowboys held an 8-0 lead with just over 9:00 left in the 4th quarter, when the Renegades scored on a 15-yard QB keeper.
The two-point conversion pass fell incomplete, and the score would remain 8-6 when the Renegades got the ball back with just over 3:30 remaining.
They would drive down the field, and with a 4th and 1 on the Cowboys 37 37-yard line, the Illinois defense came up big, securing the win.
The last time the Cats and Cowboys faced off, Sheboygan County took home a 34-22 win and pushed them into the national spotlight.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and the game will be live-streamed on the Sheboygan County SaberCats Facebook page.
