A Hortonville woman is facing charges for falsifying records to obtain more than $58,000 in food stamps and childcare.
Court records show that 33-year-old Learae Cummings faces three counts of identity theft, as well as failure to disclose an event affecting eligibility and misstating facts in her food stamp application.
FOX11 reports that investigators suspected falsification of records to get more than $20,000 in childcare benefits and over $38,000 in FoodShare benefits all starting in January 2020.
According to a criminal complaint, Cummings allegedly submitted forms from three different companies to show here hours worked and income.
However, the companies said the forms weren’t authorized by them.
The money was allegedly used to purchase certificates of deposit for their children, while other money was used for gambling.
Cummings had her bond set yesterday during her initial appearance in Outagamie County Court.
