
Two teenagers in Fond du Lac are in custody after stealing from vehicles.
The Fond du Lac Police Department responded to a call yesterday (August 12th) just before 1:15 a.m. in the 300 block of East Merrill Avenue.
The caller stated they had observed two individuals inside their vehicle.
When officers arrived on scene, they learned that both suspects had fled the area; however, both were tracked down and arrested within 25 minutes of their arrival.
One suspect, an 18-year-old Fond du Lac man, was located on foot walking near Rosenow School, while the other, also an 18-year-old Fond du Lac man, was found during a traffic stop.
Both 18-year-olds were transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail and booked on charges including Theft, Obstructing, Bail Jumping, and Prowling.
At this time, one of the teens has posted bail while the other remains in custody.
After the arrests, the Fond du Lac Police Department said, “This incident underscores the critical role our community plays in crime prevention. When you see suspicious activity, call it in immediately. Your quick action can help us identify suspects, make arrests, and protect our neighborhoods.”
