A new beverage bar could be coming to the City of Sheboygan.
The City Plan Commission is set to meet today (August 12th) at 4:00 p.m., and one item on the agenda will be a vote on a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to open a non-alcoholic beverage bar at 1503 North 8th Street.
The new drink spot would be operated under the ownership of Punto Grill, a popular food truck based in Sheboygan.
If approved, the business would serve smoothies, wellness teas, nutritional drinks, and other healthy beverages.
Genesis Fernandez, who has submitted the CUP, believes they would see 10 to 30 customers a day while having two employees working during operating hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., seven days a week.
In her proposal, Fernandez said, “The proposed beverage bar supports the City’s goals of promoting small business growth, improving access to wellness-related services, and encouraging revitalization of neighborhood commercial spaces.”
Minor upgrades to the space have already been completed, including the installation of a small service counter and a handwashing sink.
If passed by the City Plan Commission, the CUP will move in front of the Sheboygan Common Council to receive full approval at a future date.
More information regarding the CUP can be found by viewing the Plan Commission agenda.
