The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Beach Hazards Statement that will go into effect at 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning and is scheduled to expire at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
This affects beaches along Lake Michigan in Manitowoc, Kewaunee and Door Counties.
It includes Red Arrow Beach in Manitowoc, Neshotah Beach in Two Rivers, Crescent Beach and City of Kewaunee Beach in Kewaunee County, and Rock Island State Beach, Bailey’s Harbor beaches, and Whitefish Dunes Beach in Door County.
High waves and dangerous currents are expected to create dangerous swimming conditions. Strong currents can and have pulled swimmers into deeper water, while high waves can and have swept people off piers with very little to no advance warning.
Swimmers are asked to stay out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions during this time.
