Two individuals with Manitowoc ties are members of a newly created WIAA organization.
Retired Athletic Director of The Manitowoc Public School District, Dave Steavpack, and former MPSD Superintendent and current leader of the Janesville School District, Mark Holzman, are two who have been named to the Board of Directors of the newly created WIAA Foundation.
WIAA Executive Director Stephanie Hauser, who’ll also serve on the Board, says that the WIAA Foundation represents a significant milestone in their commitment to Wisconsin high school athletes through charitable support.
Hauser adds that the foundation will focus on three areas: athletic programs, risk minimization resources, and support for WIAA student-athletes and the development of officials.
They also plan on granting funds to member schools to expand athletic activities.
Other members on the foundation’s Board of Directors are retired WIAA Executive Director Doug Chickering and Kwik Trip’s Community and Government Relations Manager Dave Ring.
They plan to meet quarterly to discuss initiatives and develop future plans to serve the state’s more than 510 member schools, 185 thousand student athletes, and 10,000 licensed officials across 27 sports programs.
