
An investigation is underway following a fire in Howards Grove.
Howards Grove Fire Chief Tyler Wuestenhagen has said that the fire department was called to the former Howards Grove Elementary School on Kennedy Avenue in the early morning hours on Wednesday (August 6th) for a reported structure fire.
Arriving fire crews discovered a detached maintenance garage completely engulfed in flames.
The blaze was brought under control quickly; however, the building and its contents sustained significant damage, while a pickup truck was also destroyed during the fire.
No injuries were reported, and no damage estimate is available at this time.
An investigation into the fire has been opened by the Howards Grove Fire Department with assistance from the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office.
Other agencies assisting in fire response included fire departments from Haven, Ada, Johnsonville, the City of Sheboygan, the Town of Sheboygan, Elkhart Lake, Glenbeulah, and the Howards Grove First Responders.
