A multi-vehicle crash in Sheboygan County this morning has left several individuals with serious injuries.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office was called to Highway 23 in the area of Sunset Road in the Town of Sheboygan Falls at 7:35 this morning after numerous 911 calls were received.
Deputies determined that at least nine vehicles were involved in the crash, which was made worse by the heavy fog blanketing the area.
As the scene was being shut down and traffic was detoured, a second series of crashes, involving six vehicles, occurred west of the initial scene.
It was determined that a vehicle was trying to cross Highway 23 on Sunset Road when they were struck by a vehicle that failed to see it amid the fog.
The total number of people injured was not included in the announcement, but Lieutenant James Gottsacker noted that “serious, life-threatening injuries were reported at the first crash scene.”
More details are expected to be released at a later time.
