Time is running out to register children to show cattle at the Sheboygan County Fair.
The Sheboygan County Holstein Association is reminding parents and guardians that the registration deadline for Farmerbud Showmanship is this Sunday (August 10th).
Farmerbud Showmanship is open to anyone looking to show cattle in Sheboygan County between the ages of 4 and 8 years old.
The youth-based cattle showing will take place on August 30th, beginning at 2:00 p.m. or directly after the conclusion of the open class showing.
Each child participating is required to have their own calf to show, and the calf can be either a heifer or a bull of any breed.
Calves will not need to be clipped and are required to arrive at the fairgrounds in Plymouth no later than 12:30 p.m.; however, no barn space will be provided.
Farmerbud Showmanship serves as a chance to introduce children to showing cattle in a less competitive and more educational format.
While awards will be handed out, no cash prizes will be awarded.
Those looking to register a child for the Farmbud Showmanship at the County Fair are asked to return the completed entry form to the Sheboygan County Holstein Association office located at N7052 Meadowlark Road in Sheboygan Falls, and forms can be found on the Holstein Association’s Facebook page.
