Fundraising efforts have begun for a news business that has been shut down amid a dispute with the City of Sheboygan.
A GoFundMe has been set up for Bounce Trampoline Park following the City’s order that they shut down while they receive proper permitting and update safety features at the business located near Sheboygan’s lakeshore.
The owners of Bounce, Courtney and CJ, explained in a statement regarding their shutdown that during their dispute with the City’s Planning and Development Department, they were fined nearly $700 for each day they had been open, totaling over $40,000.
While that total number remains unconfirmed, the GoFundMe has set a fundraising goal of $18,000, and as of this morning (August 5th) $1,685 has been raised.
Additionally, Courtney and CJ have begun selling “Bounce Back Sheboygan” t-shirts with proceeds going to lessen the burden of the financial hit they have experienced.
In their statement, the owners have said, “We don’t expect anyone to donate, but are appreciative of those who are able…thank you for your patience as we navigate through this difficult situation. We can’t wait until we’re all bouncing together again.”
