Two people were arrested over the weekend after stealing a pair of ham and cheese sandwiches from a Manitowoc Kwik Trip.
Police officers were dispatched to the store on North 8th Street at 3:00 Saturday afternoon to investigate a theft that occurred earlier in the week.
Kwik Trip employees showed the officers video surveillance from Tuesday, July 26th, which showed a 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman enter the store and walk over to the hot spot.
There, each grabbed a ham and cheese sandwich and concealed them inside a motorcycle helmet.
They then grabbed two other food items, and the woman paid for them, without attempting to pay for the sandwiches, while the man walked out.
Both individuals were recognized by the officers, and a warrant was put out for their arrest.
The woman was then seen on Sunday walking on South 18th Street near Hamilton Street.
She was approached and searched, which uncovered marijuana, several Suboxone pills, several items of drug paraphernalia, including a meth pipe, and a concealed knife.
The woman is facing charges of Retail Theft, Possession of THC, a subsequent offense, Carrying a Concealed Knife, Possession of an Other Scheduled Drug, and eight counts of Felony Bail Jumping, while the man was hit with two counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
