A building that was closed at the Pinecrest Historical Village has been given new life.
Manitowoc County Historical Society Executive Director Amy Meyer said on WOMT’s Be My Guest program that the Nennig Dance Pavilion has reopened, thanks to remodeling from A.C.E. Building Service, Legacy Architecture, and Red Maple Sales.
The pavilion arrived at Pinecrest in 2003 but has been closed for the past three years.
“We had to do some massive structural repairs,” she described. “But the doors are once again open, and we can finally dance again.”
The next public dance will happen during their Civil War Remembered event at the end of September.
Meyer says it will be a great opportunity for residents to see the pavilion come alive like it was intended to.
The building is now structurally sound and has been fully restored to look better than it has before.
Meyer also says that it shows the historical society is continuously working on restoring its buildings to ensure they are safe and well-maintained.
