One person has died following a car crash in Plymouth.
The Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received a call just after 3:45 p.m. Friday (August 1st) reporting a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 23 near Pleasant View Road.
Preliminary investigations showed that a vehicle was traveling east on Highway 23, driven by a 45-year-old Sheboygan man.
A westbound vehicle driven by an 82-year-old woman and carrying an 80-year-old male passenger was traveling west on 23.
The westbound vehicle then attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Pleasant View Road, striking the eastbound vehicle in the process.
Both occupants of the westbound vehicle sustained serious injuries, with the 82-year-old experiencing non-life-threatening injuries while the 80-year-old’s injuries were deemed life-threatening.
Both would be transported to a local hospital for treatment; however, the 80-year-old would succumb to his injuries at the hospital.
The other 45-year-old driver sustained only minor injuries.
Authorities have determined the contributing factor to the crash was the westbound vehicle failing to yield to oncoming traffic when making the left-hand turn.
