A drug dealer was picked up carrying a significant amount of cocaine in Fond du Lac County.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has shared that in early July, a deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle on Interstate 41 for a traffic violation.
During the stop, K9 Rip was deployed to do a sniff of the vehicle in question and positively alerted the deputy to the presence of illegal drugs.
The vehicle was subsequently searched.
The search uncovered a bag filled with 260 grams of cocaine, the equivalent of more than half a pound of the drug.
The driver, a 45-year-old Menasha man, was arrested and sent to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
The Menasha man was a known drug dealer with an extensive criminal record involving numerous offenses for previous drug trafficking and possession.
Since his arrest, the 45-year-old has posted his $15,000 cash bond and is no longer in custody.
