The Wisconsin DNR is asking for public comments for future management of Manitowoc County’s Lake Michigan Coastal Region.
The county is part of the Central Lake Michigan Coastal Region, and the DNR is reforming the regional master plan to establish levels and types of resource management and public use permitted on their properties.
Properties around our area include the Collins Marsh Wildlife Area, Kohler-Andrae State Park, and Point Beach State Forest.
Kohler-Andrae State Park’s Office will be offering public comment hours on August 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Public comments will also be accepted at Navarino Wildlife Area in Shiocton on August 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Wisconsin DNR staff will provide a short presentation about the master plan at 5:30 p.m. on August 13th at their Green Bay Service Center, Lake Michigan Conference Room, located on Shawano Avenue.
The public is also encouraged to learn more about the Central Lake Michigan Coastal Region and review the master plan.
