A Fond du Lac man is facing child pornography charges following a CyberTip to authorities.
The Fond du Lac Police Department received the tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) on July 15th, alleging a person sent money to a child out of state in exchange for sexually explicit photos.
Detectives immediately launched an investigation and quickly identified 35-year-old Wayne C Bryan as a suspect.
The investigation into Bryan revealed child sexual abuse material on one of his electronic devices.
As the investigation into the 35-year-old intensified, Bryan was arrested on July 23rd on ten felony counts of Possession of Child pornography.
Bryan made his initial appearance in court last week Friday (July 25th), where his bond was set at $20,000 cash.
Regarding the importance of protecting children in Fond du Lac and abroad, Police Chief Aaron Goldstein said, “The Fond du Lac Police Department will continue to work relentlessly with national and local partners to track down predators, hold them accountable, and safeguard the most vulnerable members of our community.”
Fond du Lac Police urge anyone who suspects child exploitation to speak up by contacting the department at 920-906-5555 or the NCMEC CyberTipline at 1-800-843-5678.
Bryan will return to court on August 28th for his preliminary hearing.
