Kohler-Andre State Park is celebrating thanks to the generosity of an anonymous community member.
The Friends of Kohler-Andre have said that an anonymous donor has gifted a replacement for the recently stolen fire truck riding toy.
This donation comes after the Friends group took to social media asking for the public’s help in locating the piece of playground equipment that was taken and still remains unaccounted for.
Originally, park staff hoped the fire truck had been dumped somewhere within the park; however, after days of searching with no luck, the donor stepped in to give a sad story a happy ending.
The riding fire truck was recently installed thanks to the help of fundraising dollars, and with installation fees, it totaled $2,500, which qualified as Felony Theft under state law.
