Bonnie Ellen Kuik, age 82, of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully at home on July 21, 2025.
Born in Manitowoc to Elmer and Amy Schultz, Bonnie was raised in Newtonburg with her siblings Judy, Betty, Beverly, and Floyd. She graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School and married Gerald E. Kuik, Sr. on June 2, 1962, at Wesley United Methodist Church.
When Bonnie met Gerald, he was a widower with five young children. She stepped fully into the role of mother, raising Gerald Jr., Lawrence, Cynthia, Kevin, and Gina with unwavering love and devotion. Together, she and Gerald later completed their family with the birth of Tammy. Bonnie never made distinctions—she loved and cared for all six children as her own, building a strong, united family grounded in compassion, commitment, and unconditional love.
Bonnie worked as a Nurse Aide at Manitowoc Memorial Hospital and later spent 39 years at Hamilton Industries (Fisher Hamilton). She was a proud member of the Manitowoc Golden K Kiwanis Club, where she found friendship and fulfillment through community service—especially supporting children and education. She adored her pets over the years and crocheted countless handmade gifts for her family and friends.
Bonnie is survived by: Gerald Kuik, Jr. (Linda) of Kellnersville; Lawrence Kuik (Marlene) of Mishicot; Cynthia Knier (Randall) of St. Nazianz; Kevin Kuik (Mary) of Black River Falls; and Tammy Langnese of Manitowoc; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Gerald, and daughter Gina.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2025, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th St., Manitowoc, with Pastor Kirk Pingel officiating. Cremation has taken place at the All-Care Cremation Center. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 12 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
