Volunteers are needed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to teach the next generation of hunters.
The DNR says that these volunteers will teach and certify basic hunter education students while teaching hunters of all experience levels practical outdoor skills.
The Hunter Education Program was established in Wisconsin in 1967, and since its creation, over 20,000 volunteer educators have certified more than 1 million hunters while also significantly lowering hunter safety incidents.
Basic hunter education, a firearm safety class, is required by law for any person intending to hunt and will provide a standardized, internationally approved curriculum to pave the way to hunter certification.
The advanced hunter education course is intended for those further along their journey and will give hunters valuable lessons in outdoor skills such as processing a deer, cooking wild game, and much more.
