An Appleton man charged in a child pornography case in Outagamie County has changed his plea to related federal charges.
Court records show that 25-year-old James A. Ching is facing nine felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography after being arrested in March.
WBAY reports that Ching had previously pled not guilty to an additional federal count of Distributing Child Pornography related to the same incident.
However, the 25-year-old appeared in federal court yesterday (July 16th) and has pled guilty to that charge.
Ching’s arrest came after investigators found both video and photo evidence depicting sexual assault on infants and toddlers in his possession.
It has been alleged that Ching possessed no less than 600 images or videos of child sexual assault material on his electronic devices.
In regard to his Outagamie County charges, he remains in custody on a $500,000 cash bond.
Ching has pled not guilty to all nine offenses and will return to court on September 18th for a pre-trial conference.
