The Sheboygan Police Department is bidding farewell to a longtime detective.
The department has announced that Detective Todd Danen has retired after serving the Sheboygan community for more than two decades.
Detective Danen joined the force in 2003 after serving as a local firefighter for 11 years. In 2009, he became a canine handler, partnering with K9 Kramer for the following eight years before becoming a School Resource Officer (SRO) in 2017.
His outstanding work as an SRO prompted his promotion to detective, where he would stay until his recent retirement.
While serving as a detective, his previous experience as a firefighter allowed him to become an expert in fire investigation.
He was also a well-decorated member of the department, having received the Life Saving Award in 2013, the Community Engagement Award in 2018, and the Meritorious Award in 2023.
With gratitude for Detective Danen’s 22 years of service, the Sheboygan Police Department has said, “We appreciate Todd’s hard work and willingness to take on new challenges throughout his career, and we are excited for his next chapter and the new challenges it brings.”
