
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has announced grants benefiting Manitowoc, Sheboygan, and Green Bay among fourteen organizations.
Progress Lakeshore of Manitowoc will receive a grant of $133,400 for a Child Care Startup Assistance Project, which aims to enhance the availability and quality of childcare by expanding provider networks, strengthening professional development, upgrading facility standards, and creating sustainable funding solutions. One key initiative is a childcare incubator to provide mentorship, training, facilities, and financial support to new providers.
Lakeland University of Sheboygan will get a grant of $84,500 to fill critical gaps in Wisconsin’s startup ecosystem through an inclusive year-round approach. With a strong focus on rural and women-owned businesses, the initiative leverages new and existing partnerships to provide specialized support so entrepreneurs have access to essential resources.
Accelerate Sheboygan County gets $200,000. This is a new initiative aimed at expanding entrepreneurial support for rural and underserved populations in Sheboygan County. It focuses on the consumer packaged goods sector. The aim is to foster economic growth and innovation.
The Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce will receive $10,500 to assist in the launch of “Impulso Latino”, a 10-week accelerator program to support startups and small businesses in the food and retail industries. This program recognizes the rapid growth of Green Bay’s Latino community and the challenges entrepreneurs face.
A total of $1.6 million was allotted to organizations around the state.
