The City of Sheboygan is selling two parcels of land to the Above and Beyond Children’s Museum.
At this week’s City Transit Commission Meeting, the city agreed to sell the parking lot located at 816 Niagara Avenue in Downtown Sheboygan, adjacent to the museum.
According to the letter submitted to Dereck Muench, Director of Parking and Transit, by Brian O’Laughlin and Cate Tinker with Above and Beyond, the purchase will be for just under $50,000.
The money is broken down at $1,850 per space, totaling $49,950. With the purchase, the museum is looking to utilize the space for both staff and museum visitors.
The letter further states, “We look forward to adding in handicap accessible parking options to better serve our visitors. In the future, we look forward to planning a building and green space expansion to better serve the needs of our community.”
This parking lot was previously used as a City-managed, public parking area for downtown visitors.
