A nonprofit recovery center in Sheboygan is offering a new program to support the community.
Sheboygan’s Lighthouse Recovery Community Center has introduced new, weekly “Now What?” meetings that will be held every Monday from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
“Now What?” aims to provide a safe and inclusive space to explore the emotional, relational, and practical aspects of rebuilding a life in recovery.
They will focus heavily on what comes after substance abuse has stopped for someone who has experienced addiction.
Ian Schebel, Outreach and Development Specialist for Lighthouse Recovery Community Center, Sheboygan, said, “These meetings are a game changer…when you distance yourself from the behavior, the problems don’t magically go away. Facing them successfully is key to recovery. That is very difficult, if not impossible, to do on your own. That’s where these meetings come in. We’ve heard from so many that these meetings are special.”
At this time, this will be the first such program in the Sheboygan area, but Schebel has said that the need is very real.
Lighthouse’s Sheboygan branch is located at 1014 North 6th Street, and more information on the “Now What?” program can be found online by visiting lighthouserecoverycommunitycenter.org.
