The ever-popular Kids from Wisconsin will be hitting the Capitol Civic Center stage tonight, and among the cast is a graduate of Two Rivers High School.
Dion Limon is in his first year with the group known for showcasing some of the best young talent the state has to offer.
He was first introduced to the Kids from Wisconsin during their local performance last year, where he opened for them.
“I got to meet Nora Wroblewski,” he explained. “She said, ‘Hey, you should totally audition next year,’ and I did.”
Dion has really enjoyed his time with the Kids from Wisconsin, calling them a family away from home.
“They’re all so talented, but more importantly, they’re all very kind and nice people,” he explained. “We support each other through no matter what, and some of the harder days on tour where you miss your own family, your friends are right there to back you up. It’s the best feeling ever.”
This year’s show, entitled The Heat is On, will feature a wide array of songs spanning many decades, including some that Dion said he had never heard before.
“One song that actually stands out to me the most is ‘Sailing.’ I didn’t know it at all going into it,” he admitted. “I think, within the entire cast of singer dancers, it’s become a favorite just because it’s a moment where the high energy dance numbers kind of come to a pause and we really sit with each other and focus and stay in the moment and just breathe.”
With this being his homecoming show, Dion was beaming with a smile recalling all of the messages he has received this week from friends and family who are excited to come see the show.
He will also be helping teach the dancing portion of the free Realize Your Dream Performing Arts Workshop, which will begin at 4:00 p.m.
The full performance will begin at 7:00 p.m. on the Capitol Civic Center stage. Tickets are still available at CCCShows.org.
