A Fond du Lac woman accused of stabbing a woman to death last year during a drug deal has entered her plea.
Court documents show that 21-year-old Annaka Trudell was in court for a plea hearing on Friday (May 9th) as she faces charges of First-Degree Intentional Homicide and Armed Robbery with the Use of Force.
WBAY reports that, on Friday, a plea deal was reached which saw her plead no contest to the lesser charge of Reckless Homicide with a Dangerous Weapon.
Trudell was arrested in February of last year after she was deemed a suspect in the stabbing death of 33-year-old Ashley Calo.
A criminal complaint states that Calo was stabbed in her car numerous times by Trudell during a drug deal as Calo’s 3-year-old child was in the backseat.
Another individual, 22-year-old Dawson Miller, was also arrested in connection with the killing of Calo.
The complaint explains that Dawson and Trudell conspired to set up this drug deal not to buy drugs from Calo but rather to steal them.
Miller is facing a long list of charges, which include Felony Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery with the Use of Force, and Harboring/Aiding a Felon for helping Trudell flee Fond du Lac after the incident.
He does not return to court in Fond du Lac County until October 1st, while Trudell has a status hearing scheduled for July 25th.
