Linda L. Konecny, age 74, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 8, 2025, at her residence.
Linda was born on September 9, 1950, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Ellis and Jeanette (Schaft) Clayton. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1968. Linda married John L. Konecny on September 25, 1971, in Manitowoc. She worked a variety of customer service positions, her two favorites being the north side Dairy Queen and United One Credit Union. Linda had a love for crafting, and could often be found at many local craft fairs selling her creations – Barbie doll clothes, football mittens, kitchen towels, and dish scrubbies among many other things. She had a very lucky side, and enjoyed playing cards, dice, and scratch offs, because she would always win. Linda and John spent many summers camping with family and friends at Jellystone in Fremont and at Devil’s River. Her quick wit, sense of humor, and love for her family will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
Survivors include Linda’s husband: John Konecny; son: John R. (Rebecca) Konecny; two grandsons: Jack and Nick Konecny; sister: Tammy (Brian) Heili; nieces and nephews: Jacob (Rachel) and Joshua Heili, Erik (Lisa) Konecny, Valerie Thomas, Terry and Jeff Clayton, Scott (Jessica) Vogel, and Kimberly Palenik; two sisters-in-law: Judy Clayton and Elaine Clayton; brother-in-law: Jim (Darlene) Konecny.
Linda was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Russell and Gladys Raduenz; three brothers: Ellis (Butch) Clayton, Ray Clayton, and Bob Clayton; and many other dear relatives and friends.
