A golf course in Sheboygan County is set to host a collegiate tournament, beginning this weekend.
Whistling Straights on the shores of Lake Michigan will hold the 2025 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship from Saturday (May 5th) through Monday, May 7th).
This event is the most culturally significant championship held in the college game, annually hosting student-athletes from across the country enrolled in Historically Black Colleges, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, and other Minority-Serving Educational Institutions.
The championship will be a 54-hole, stroke-play event contested across five colligate divisions.
It is open to all minority men and women athletes playing collegiate golf at the Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, and NJCAA level, or eligible students who are enrolled in one of the PGA of America’s PGA Golf Management University Programs.
Last year’s event, played at TPC Sawgrass saw 184 golfers competing with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi winning the women’s team title while Florida A&M University won the men’s title.
