Neveah Weina and Mar Lee Show Off a Prom Table Centerpiece
Prom season is officially upon us.
The Two Rivers High School prom court is adding the finishing touches as the dance is taking place this Saturday (April 26th), with the dance running from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m.
The process of picking students for prom court, fundraising, and planning is something that takes a lot more time and depth, as TRHS prom advisor Jessica Otte explained.
“We began back in February,” she revealed. “We have any juniors sign up who wants to be on prom court. After a week, the students vote for who they want to be on prom court…The prom court meets regularly and decides on things like theme, fundraising opportunities.”
Sam Throckmorton, a TRHS prom court member, enjoyed working together with the rest of the court to make this dance memorable.
“It’s really like a group effort,” he explained. “We all try to collectively agree on everything…we all try like to discuss and include everybody’s opinion.”
As far as the selection of the theme, Ava McLean said, “We decided to do a casino-type theme. So we have poker chips, dice, playing cards, all that kind of stuff. We wanted something that would be obvious as to what the theme was. And something fun that you could do rather then trying to guess it and figure it out.”
The dance is set to be held this Saturday at the Sepia Chapel, which has heldthe TRHS prom for the last 5 years.
