A third walk-off win keeps the Manitowoc Lincoln Shipbuilders in the lead of the FRCC as they defeated Notre Dame 6-5 yesterday from Municipal Park.
Notre Dame opened up the scoring in the 1st inning on two errors, one of which scored a run.
The Tritons also added two more runs to make it 3-0.
The Ships got on the board in the 2nd inning thanks to a Kameron Braun solo shot and took the lead in the 5th when Vance Schroeder singled and Braun doubled in runs.
Notre Dame wasn’t done though, as in the top of the sixth, Christian Collins notched a run scoring single, tying the game at 5.
Seth Gibeault was the hero of the day for the Ships, as he singled in the bottom of the 7th, bringing home the game-winning run.
Gabe Eichmann earned the win on the mound, hurling 5 innings while giving up 3 hits and 4 runs while striking out seven batters.
Adam Guyette took the loss for the Tritons. The Ships improve to 8-0 overall, 7-0 in the FRCC. They have a non-conference contest against Kewaunee tomorrow.
They’ll then go to Ripon on Saturday for two games.
