A Fond du Lac man is in custody after a weekend standoff with law enforcement.
The Fond du Lac Police Department arrived at a residence in the 300 block of Doty Street yesterday (April 20th) at approximately 8:30 a.m.
An investigation into a domestic violence incident that occurred on Saturday (April 19th) brought authorities to the residence where they learned a 29-year-old Fond du Lac man was inside.
Additional officers arrived on scene to set up a perimeter and attempt to make contact with the individual, as he had barricaded himself inside.
However, after their attempts failed, SWAT, Crisis Negotiations, armored vehicles, and K9 units were deployed as a lengthy standoff ensued.
With teams continuing their efforts to reach the 29-year-old, he was located at 1:20 p.m., nearly five hours after police arrived on scene.
The man was then taken into custody without incident and transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
No injuries related to yesterday’s standoff were reported, and the incident remains under investigation.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Fond du Lac Fire Rescue assisted in the response.
