
Sheboygan’s Common Council is now set for the 2025-2026 session.
At the First Regular Common Council meeting of the new session, the Alders voted amongst themselves to elect a new Council President and Vice President, along with the Chairperson of the Committee of the Whole and the Representative on the City Plan Commission.
District Six Alder Dean Dekker was reelected to serve as Council President, while District Seven Alder Grazia Perella was selected by her peers as Council Vice President.
Newly elected District One Alder Michael Close was picked as the Representative for the City Plan Commission, and former Council Vice President Zach Rust will replace Perrella as the Chairperson of Sheboygan’s Committee of the Whole.
In addition to these new electees being named, at the final session of the previous Common Council on Monday (April 14th), Taylor Zeinert was appointed as the new Director of the City’s Planning and Development Department.
In her new role, Zeinert will “promote a diverse, safe, and dynamic community and enhance the living, working, and recreational choices for all Sheboygan citizens and visitors.”
