
A local agency aimed at combating human trafficking has received a statewide award.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced that the Sheboygan County Human Trafficking Task Force has been nominated and selected for the Excellence in Outreach and Prevention Award.
The task force will formally be presented with the award at the 6th annual Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Conference, which the Wisconsin DOJ will host next month in Appleton.
The Wisconsin ICAC Task Force has said that Sheboygan County’s Task Force received the distinction for their efforts and dedication to creating community awareness and providing public education to parents and schools regarding internet safety.
The Wisconsin ICAC Conference will take place May 6th through the 8th at the Paper Valley Hilton Hotel in Appleton, with awards to be presented on day one, beginning at noon.
