A doubleheader of baseball over the weekend goes Manitowoc Lincoln’s way against Sheboygan North.
The Ships won the first game 7-6 via walk-off before dominating the Golden Raiders 17-4 in game two.
In game one, Gabe Eichmann gets the scoring started for Lincoln in the 2nd inning with a double to center field before Seth Gibeault and Brayden Steinbecker draw walks.
The Golden Raiders would score in the fifth with a solo home run by Tristin Hundt.
North would then take the lead in the top of the sixth inning when Aaron Kessler and Mark Williams walked to draw in one runner apiece.
Eric Paarmann also singled to make it a 6-3 lead. The Ships came roaring back to tie it in the seventh with a single by Benson Dickrell and a walk by Eichmann.
The hero of game one was Vance Schroeder who singled to score a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Lincoln the walk off win.
Cade Grapentine earned the win for the Shipbuilders by giving up zero hits and zero runs over two innings of work.
In game two, it was Grapentine who started the scoring by doubling in the 2nd inning to drive in three runs.
Vance Shroeder continued hitting well by smacking a homer to left field while Dickrell and Zack Brandl had singles in the top of the third inning to add to Lincoln’s lead.
In the fifth inning, the Ships scored six runs which included singles by Gibault, Steinbecker, and Dickrell.
Cade Grapentine was hit by a pitch while Gabe Eichmann drew a walk as well.
Bennett Johnson got the win for the Ships in the second game after he allowed five hits and four runs over 3 and 2/3 innings.
For the Golden Raiders, Tristin Hundt took the loss.
The Ships are now 3-0 overall and will face the Denmark Vikings this afternoon at Municipal Field.
