An in-person start-up event through the Sheboygan County Innovation Council was a big success.
The “Let’s Taco ‘Bout Start-Ups” event was held last Thursday (April 3rd) at 3 Sheeps Brewing in Sheboygan and was designed to help local start-ups accelerate their ideas and gain exposure, mentorship, and funding.
Three presenters took home prize money through the pitch contest to help in their future endeavors.
1st place went to Lizzy, who pitched Shopline, a way to bring personal shopping into an online world.
2nd place was given to Marisa of Third Space Wellness, an event-based wellness company focusing on social wellness, while 3rd place went to Jacob Johnson of Sliver Comet Coffee.
Sheboygan County Innovation Council Chairman Justin Vannieuwenhoven said that the group was blown away by the crowd’s passion and the ingenuity of the presenters.
Each attendee’s main course of the night was tacos served by Chef Ryan Messner, who runs the food truck Peja Vu.
The “Lets Taco ‘Bout Start-Ups” was supported by Launch at Lakeland University and Active8.
