A man was rescued from a house fire in Racine after firefighters were called to the scene on the 2000 block of Blake Avenue yesterday afternoon.
Upon arrival, emergency responders observed smoke and flames pouring from the building.
A police officer, who was already present at the scene, bravely entered the home through the back and broke down a door to rescue an unconscious man inside.
Two children were safely outside as the officer brought the man to safety.
All three individuals were transported to the hospital with injuries.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
