A group of local veterans have made a generous donation to the SeehaferNews.com and American Legion Post 477 fundraiser for Old Glory Honor Flight.
As a part of its Orange Blossom program, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 731 collected $4,000 from the community.
Mission Commander Mike Flentje and his team were out in the community on March 29th, a date which also marked the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.
All donations to the fundraiser will go towards achieving a goal of funding an entire flight to Washington D.C. for local veterans through Old Glory Honor Flight.
A total of $100,000 is needed to achieve that goal. With this donation, over $6,000 has been collected so far, but there is a big fundraising effort coming up at Manitowoc Lincoln High School known as Set Sail for Old Glory Honor Flight, with Ashton Buck serving as Mission Commander.
