Multiple people, including a young child, were injured in a Fond du Lac County car accident.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash in the Township of Marshfield on County Highway G near County Highway GG on Sunday (March 30th) at approximately 6:15 p.m.
The initial call reported a two-vehicle, head-on collision.
After investigations on the scene, deputies determined the operator of the vehicle traveling southbound on County Road G crossed the center line while negotiating a curve and struck the northbound vehicle.
The southbound vehicle, driven by a 26-year-old Illinois Woman, also had a 4-year-old child in the backseat.
During the crash, the 26-year-old sustained minor injuries; however, the 4-year-old sustained a significant head injury and later had to be transported to a Milwaukee children’s hospital for further treatment.
The occupants of the northbound vehicle, a 51-year-old male and a 50-year-old female from St. Cloud, were also treated for minor injuries.
Following the incident, the Illinois woman was cited for operating a vehicle left of center, causing injury, and for operating a motor vehicle with a child aged four to eight not in a proper restraint seat.
County Highway G was closed for approximately two and a half hours due to the accident.
Assisting agencies included St. Cloud Fire Department, St. Cloud First Responders, Mt. Calvary EMS, Mt. Calvary Fire Department, and the City of Fond du Lac Ambulance.
