
A fire in the Town of Plymouth has claimed the lives of numerous animals.
The Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received a call yesterday (March 24th) reporting a structure fire in the 1300 block of County Road PP just before 6:30 p.m.
Arriving Deputies with the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office located a barn containing granary machinery and cats to be completely engulfed in flames.
Responding fire crews were able to extinguish the flames quickly, however, as a result of the fire eight deceased cats were found inside the barn along with some destroyed farming equipment.
No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is believed to be related to an electrical issue.
Responding public safety agencies included the Sheboygan County Highway Department, Plymouth Police Department, Plymouth Fire Department, Elkhart Lake Fire Department, Town of Sheboygan Falls Fire Department, Cascade Fire Department, Johnsonville Fire Department, Greenbush Fire Department, Cascade First Responders, and the Fire Investigation Team.
