A man convicted of stealing over $30,000 in copper wire has been sentenced.
According to court documents, 43-year-old Mark Plagemann will avoid prison time but will have his sentence run consecutively with other cases.
Plagemann was sentenced to six years of probation through the Wisconsin DOC but is serving prison time for drug cases in Ozaukee County.
As part of his Manitowoc County probation, he’ll have to get treatment and counseling through the DOC, maintain absolute sobriety, and have some full-time employment.
He might have to serve some jail time under Huber Law at the court’s discretion.
Plagemann became a suspect in the copper thefts after a business in the Town of Meme (MEE-mee) found that the wire was stolen for months last year.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office says Plagemann became a suspect later.
He pleaded no contest to two counts of theft of movable property earlier this month.
