A Fond du Lac County landlord is in critical condition following a disturbance with a renter.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office received a call on Tuesday of last week (March 11th) from an individual claiming that he and his landlord were in a fight.
The caller also stated that his landlord, a 39-year-old man, was having trouble breathing.
Deputies arriving at the Town of Auburn address found the landlord with significant, life-threatening injuries and he was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital before being flown to Froedtert in Milwaukee.
The victim is currently being medically sedated due to severe head and brain injuries which continue to be life-threatening.
Initial investigations at the scene led authorities to believe the renter, also a 39-year-old man, was the one responsible for causing the substantial injuries to his landlord.
The renter was then arrested and transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
As the Sheriff’s Office is working with the District Attorney’s Office on the case, a charge of First-Degree Attempted Homicide has been forwarded to the DA with additional charges possibly to come as the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
