A police chase ended in Fond du Lac County with a crash and an arrest.
The Kewaskum Police Department was alerted on Tuesday (March 11th) to an erratic driver who may have been intoxicated while traveling north on Fond du Lac Avenue.
An officer found the vehicle which was seen to be all over the road and hitting the curb numerous times.
A traffic stop was initiated, but the driver sped off, hitting speeds as high as 80 MPH.
The driver continued north into Fond du Lac County on Highway 45 before ultimately crashing into the ditch, bringing an end to the pursuit.
The driver was uninjured and swiftly arrested for OWI, their fourth offense, Fleeing and Eluding, Driving on a Revoked License, and various other traffic violations.
Criminal charges were also requested with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, where the police chase began.
The Wisconsin State Patrol has been brought in to aid the Kewaskum Police Department in its investigation of the incident, which remains open.
