A former paraprofessional with Milwaukee Public Schools is facing child abuse charges and has been released on bond.
Jeffrey McClain, 62, is accused of mistreating students at Metcalfe School after several parents reported that their children refused to attend class when he was present.
McClain allegedly caused a six-year-old to suffer a three-inch laceration on his chest while forcing him into a chair and is also accused of choking or punching other children.
If convicted, McClain could face over 12 years in prison and more than $20,000 in fines.
