
Two people are dead, and one was seriously injured after a head-on vehicle crash in Calumet County.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office explains that they were called to State Highway 32/57 yesterday after 6:20 pm for a two-vehicle crash.
From the preliminary investigation, it appears a southbound pickup truck was struck head-on by a northbound SUV.
Both vehicles ended up in the southbound lane following the incident.
A 73-year-old driver and his 70-year-old passenger from the New Holstein area passed away at Ascension Chilton Medical Center while the 57-year-old female driver in the SUV from Chilton is in critical condition at the same hospital.
The crash is still under investigation.
Calumet County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by numerous emergency crews, including Chilton and New Holstein Fire Departments, Kiel Ambulance, Valders Ambulance, Chilton and New Holstein Police, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
