***Original Stroy***
A vehicle fire on Interstate 43 has caused traffic backups.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that both southbound lanes are blocked near the Village of Cleveland.
Both southbound lanes have been closed between the North Avenue on-ramp in Manitowoc County and the State Highway 42 off-ramp in Sheboygan County while crews work to extinguish the fire.
Southbound travelers are recommended to take the Cleveland exit as traffic has become backed up for roughly two miles.
While few details regarding the incident are currently available, eyewitnesses have confirmed a semi-truck caught fire, resulting in the subsequent lane closures.
We will provide further updates when they become available.
