One person has been arrested after a police chase in Fond du Lac County.
WBAY reports that on Friday (February 21st) a Deputy with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office spotted and began following the vehicle on Interstate 41 northbound before the driver exited into the City of Fond du Lac.
The driver, a 43-year-old Wild Rose man, then failed to stop at a stop sign and the Deputy activated his lights and siren in an attempt to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop.
However, the Wild Rose man began speeding away and the pursuit began.
Tire deflation devices were utilized to try and stop the fleeing vehicle but the driver continued, making his way onto Highway 26 in Winnebago County.
On 26, a Sheriff’s Deputy performed a successful PIT maneuver on the suspect vehicle, bringing an end to the pursuit that spanned 18 miles and two counties.
The 43-year-old was then arrested without incident and transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail where he faces charges of Fleeing/Eluding and Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.
