Employees with the Sheboygan Area School District (SASD) have been receiving important safety training.
At the end of last year, all administrators districtwide participated in training regarding the Standard Response Protocol, ALICE, and the Standard Reunification Method.
In recent weeks, SASD advanced into a second phase in their partnership with local agencies such as the Sheboygan Fire and Police Departments, United Way of Sheboygan County, and officials with the City of Sheboygan.
This second phase will see the school district and these agencies review existing practices and plan for community-wide safety procedures in the event of an emergency evacuation.
Over the past decade, SASD has made significant investments in the safety of its students and staff, including updating school entrances to be secure, door locks, and the addition of security cameras.
This investment has also included improved student mental health services and implementing secure internet monitoring for all school technology devices districtwide.
