WPS released some energy-saving tips for those hosting a watch party this Sunday.
Residents are encouraged to make sure your food is fully prepared by the time the oven is done preheating, to ensure it is not on too long.
Another way to save money is to leave the oven light off until you are ready to check the food, and to avoid opening the oven unless necessary.
WPS also recommends a smaller appliance like a microwave slow cooker or air fryer as those appliances use as much as 75% less energy than an oven.
Wisconsin Public Services includes the idea of unplugging appliances when not using them and making sure the dishwasher is completely full before it is used.
